Richard Huffman, Founder
Richard O. Huffman is the founder, President and CEO of Celebree Learning Centers, a regional chain of educationally based preschool and child care centers.  His company has found tremendous success through community based partnerships and affiliations such as the mutually beneficial arrangement with the Harford County Public Library system. A father of five and appointed participant to the Governor’s Advisory Council on Early Childhood Education, and the not-for-profit board,  The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Richard understands the fundamental need for educational preparedness.
Emily Gordon, Executive Director
Ms. Emily Gordon, like so many others in the world, set out on a path to make a difference.  She thought that difference would start in a traditional classroom; however, she found that most educators ventured down that path quite often. Instead, she observed a greater need down a similar, yet different path to stimulate minds before and after the school bell rang, which led her to HSECP in 2009. Ms. Emily Gordon has always been committed to developing the uniqueness in every child. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Special Education Psychology, as well as, a Masters Degree of Education, At-Risk Specialization.   She is an advocate for community collaboration serving on the Partnership Board of United Way Central Maryland and co-chairs Kids Helping Hopkins a values-based and philanthropic program. She has led a rapidly growing HSECP Team for the past seven years, by building effective relationships and promoting teamwork. She is the recipient of The Brava! Top Female CEO Award and The Daily Records Top Twenty in Their Twenties for her exemplary leadership skills. As Executive Director, Ms. Emily Gordon focuses on organizational effectiveness and business development. She is committed to elevating the standard of out-of-school time experiences while growing consistent and meaningful relationships with HSECP students, families, schools, communities and team.
Dr. Admon Alexander, Director of Curriculum
Dr. Admon Alexander has been in the educational field for over 16 years and has had the unique experience of instructing all levels of education; primary, intermediate, secondary, higher education and non-traditional classroom settings. He has an earned Doctorate degree in Educational Administration, Leadership and Supervision, a Master degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor degree in Education. As the Director of Curriculum, Dr. Alexander has merged his experiences within the traditional classroom to the out of school time setting by creating and establishing essential links to academics, social emotional wellness and instructional skills.  The correlation of these concepts in the out of school time setting support classroom teachers' instruction and provides reinforcement to students to support their maturation within the academic process. Dr. Alexander's passion for the success of people and students can be some up in a statement by Marian Wright Edelman “The question is not whether we can afford to invest in every child: it is whether we can afford not to.”
Ashley Meyers, Operations Manager
Mrs. Ashley Meyers first developed a passion for children and education as a youth volunteering with inner city summer camp programs across the United States.  Her passion was, and is, to create a love of learning, exploration, and personal growth in the children she works with.  She found the ability to do this through the freedom and creativity possible in working with out of school time organizations such as HSECP. Graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, Mrs. Meyers has spent over ten years working with children in numerous capacities within both the traditional and non-traditional school setting.  Over her five years with HSECP, she has served in several roles from teacher to Operations Manager. As Operations Manager, Mrs. Meyers enjoys working with the HSECP Directors to ensure consistency and quality in all of our programs for the families we service. Working together with each Director, she helps maximize their own skills and experience to create a safe, unique, and engaging learning space for our children.
